Jon has been a member of the Jewish music group The Burning
Bush since 2000, playing qanun, santuri and accordion at
the Royal Festival Hall and Barbican Hall as well as much
international touring and TV and radio appearances. He is
currently working on a new recording with them. He has also
toured extensively with the Jocelyn Pook Ensemble as a
qanun and harp player since 2004, including concerts at the
Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, in Spain and in
Slovenia.
He has worked on independent projects with traditional
players from Iran, culminating in three Queen Elizabeth
Hall concerts with Davod Azad and Fariborz Kiani in
2000-2001. He is also a member of the group Mawwal, playing
santur and qanun in performances of the old Eastern
Mediterranean and Ottoman repertory.
